Week 5(Transmission)

Day 21(Monday, 3 May)

As usual today there were morning talk and tazkirah...after that, meeting for plan on air 3G for May 2010...before the meeting started I went to see En. Zaidi Razab but he was busy so  he said to see him later...back to the meeting, as to achieve the KPI, they planned 32 sites to be on air and all sites were in Terengganu and Indoor BTS since for outdoor BTS, CME need to provide new rectifier but there were no stock for rectifier...after the meeting I went to see En. Zaidi Razab but again he said to see him later...in the afternoon there were Mobile Access meeting with Alcatel...even though I'm not in mobile access, I joined the meeting since my workspace was in the planning/meeting room...the meeting was lead by my supervisor, En Norhisham...the meeting was about SSV report, handover/ATP, site on air, SDP submission, TP submission and plan on air for May, June and July...since En Zaidi was busy so I'm not reporting in today...

Day 22(Tuesday, 4 May)

so today as I arrived at the office, I immediately reporting in to him...so I show my training schedule and told him that I will be under transmission unit for 3 weeks from 3rd May until 21st May...he asked En Kamarul Firdaus to assist me during the training period as a result I was assigned to key in data for 130 Microwave Survey Report (MSR)...MSR is a report to be submitted to HQ so that they can release Distribution Microwave Program (DMP) to the vendor (Huawei) and then Huawei will release Link Budget to be used by contractor for link installation, alignment and configuration...Link Budget is a calculation involving the gain and loss factors associated with the antennas, transmitters, transmission lines and propagation environment, to determine the maximum distance at which a transmitter and receiver can successfully operate...below are the example of MSR, DMP and Link Budget (please click to see larger image)...

MSR                                                  DMP                                             Link Budget

MSR usually attached with photos of LOS view from site A to B and B to A, topomap, and Path Data...
LOS view                                          Path Data                                           Topomap

Day 23(Wednesday, 5 May)

today I continue my assignment to key in data for MSR and learn how to read latitude and longitude on topomap...for example, take the latitude and longitude from site in the MSR above, Hospital Kuala Berang, Lat : 005 03' 24.5" N  Long : 103 04' 00.1" E
in the topomap, there are only degree and minute so to get a precise location in topomap, multiply the seconds with 0.61666 where in this example for latitude 24.5 x 0.61666 = 15.1 mm while for longitude 0.1 x 0.61666 = 0.0617mm...so in the topomap for latitude, at 05 03' we add 15 mm(round up) towards North and for longitude at 103 04' we add 0.06 mm(almost 0 mm or 1 mm) towards East...

Day 24(Thursday, 6 May)

again I continued key in data for MSR the whole day...
